When to Visit

Lit Lavender welcomes visitors from May through September, when the fields come alive with color and fragrance. Whether you arrive for the first green shoots of spring or the golden harvest days of late summer, every visit tells a different story.

Each part of the season offers something unique

Early season
May – Early June

Early Growth. Fields turn green, first buds appear. Peaceful visits before the crowds. Perfect for those who love quiet mornings and bird song.

Peak bloom
Mid June – July

Peak Bloom. The fields explode in purple. This is prime time for U-pick, photography, and the annual Sequim Lavender Festival. Book stays early.

Harvest season
Late July – September

Harvest & Late Season. Watch the harvest unfold. Farm shop stocked with fresh products. Golden light, warm evenings, and quieter visits.

Nestled on the north shore of the Olympic Peninsula, Sequim sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains. We're an easy drive from Seattle, a scenic ferry ride from Victoria, and well worth the journey from Portland.

From Seattle

2.5 hours via the Kingston or Bainbridge ferry. A beautiful drive through the Olympic Peninsula.

From Victoria, BC

Take the Coho ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles (90 min), then a scenic 20-minute drive east to Sequim.

From Portland

4.5 hours via I-5 North and Highway 101. Consider making it an overnight trip.

Is Lit Lavender open year-round? +
We're open May through September for farm visits. Our online shop is available year-round, and overnight stays can be booked for the full season. Off-season visits may be arranged for weddings and special events.
Do I need to make a reservation? +
No reservation is needed for general farm visits and U-pick. Just come during open hours. Overnight stays and wedding inquiries should be booked in advance. During festival weekend, we recommend arriving early for the best parking.
Is the farm accessible for wheelchairs and strollers? +
The farm shop, main pathways, and picnic areas are accessible. Some field paths are on natural terrain and may be more challenging. We're always happy to assist — please contact us in advance if you have specific accessibility needs.
Can I bring my dog? +
We love dogs! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in most outdoor areas. Please keep them away from the farm animals and clean up after them. Service animals are welcome everywhere on the property.
What about the weather? Does it rain in Sequim? +
Sequim sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, receiving only about 16 inches of rain per year — less than Los Angeles. Summers are typically warm and sunny with temperatures in the 70s. That said, the Pacific Northwest can surprise you, so layers are always a good idea.
How long should I plan to spend at the farm? +
Most visitors enjoy 2–3 hours for a thorough visit including U-pick, animals, mini golf, and shopping. If you're staying overnight, you'll have plenty of time to relax and soak in the atmosphere at your own pace.
Are there food options at the farm? +
We offer lavender ice cream, seasonal refreshments, and light snacks at the farm shop. For a fuller meal, Sequim has excellent dining options just a short drive away. Guests staying overnight enjoy a farm-fresh breakfast.
