Sequim sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains. Storms coming off the Pacific dump their water on the peaks and arrive here wrung out — which leaves this valley dry, bright, and cool at night while the rest of western Washington is under cloud. It is the same weather logic that made Provence famous for lavender: long sun, low water, cold nights. Lavender answers that kind of season by putting its energy into aromatic oil instead of leaf. That is the whole story of what is in these bottles.

Royal Velvet lavender, steam-distilled

How to use it
The ritual
Small things, done properly. This is how we use it on the farm.

Pillow
Two drops on the corner of a pillowcase, not the middle — you want to find it, not swim in it.

Bath
Three to five drops stirred into a tablespoon of carrier oil first, then into running water. Oil and water do not mix; skip that step and it just floats.

Palms
One drop, rub palms together, cup over the nose, three slow breaths. The whole ritual is fifteen seconds.

Diffuser
Four to six drops in water. Royal Velvet is the one to use in a bedroom; save Super for the big rooms.

Answered before you have to ask
If it is going near skin, a pillow, or a wind-down ritual, you want Royal Velvet. If it is going into a cleaning spray, a laundry load, a big diffuser, or a bug-season porch, Super does that job better and costs less.
Essential oil is concentrated — dilute it in a carrier oil first. If you want lavender on skin with no math, our Calming Roll-on is already blended into coconut oil at a skin-friendly ratio.
At a few drops a night, most people get several months out of one. Keep it capped, out of sunlight, and it holds its character for years.
Scale and distance. Most lavender product is blended from bulk oil bought on a commodity market, filled in the thousands. Ours is distilled from our own rows in a copper still on the property and bottled in runs small enough to hand-label in an afternoon. When a batch is gone it is gone until the next harvest.
