We grow two very different lavenders, and picking the wrong one is the most common lavender mistake there is. Here is the short version.
English lavender
Royal Velvet
Lavandula angustifoliaSweeter, softer, rounder. The one for skin and for winding down.

Months. Roll a head to wake the scent whenever it seems to be going quiet.
Same field, different intent. The bundle is a bouquet you display; the bloom sticks are made to be handled and used up.
Scale and distance. Most lavender product is blended from bulk oil bought on a commodity market, filled in the thousands. Ours is distilled from our own rows in a copper still on the property and bottled in runs small enough to hand-label in an afternoon. When a batch is gone it is gone until the next harvest.
